Literature Text

I remember you giggling
I tickled your toes, played 'this little piggy'
Tears of laughter
Running down our cheeks

A night when you were ill
I hugged you
I saw you through the sickness
I saw an angel

It didn't heal
The doctors glared
Tried to convince me
That I was imagining it

My angel was fading
They didn't see
Why didn't they see?
I could have killed them

One morning
The sun rose blood-red
And you couldn't wake up
I wept while the pink clouds gathered

It's ok, they said
Don't cry, be strong
I don't want to be strong
I want to drown in tears

Now all I see
Is a block of cold marble
Shoved in the ground
REST IN PEACE.
I cried while writing this. It's the story of a mother whose daughter is terminally ill, but the doctors ignore it until it's too late.

I didn't feel like it was me writing this. It felt like there was somebody else who put the ideas into my head, because this poem literally came out of nowhere. I didn't do any planning, just sat down and wrote this.

I hope you find it as touching as I did.

This is AMAZING! It's almost as like YOU went thru this awful experience... The level of your empathy/sympathy is so great with this, that you actually suck the readers in & affect 'em (/us) so deeply...
